Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson in January.

The 20-year-old has endured a challenging start to the term on the South coast for the Seagulls, scoring just the single goal across seven top-flight appearances.

That being said, Ferguson has featured just once from the start in the Premier League in 2024-25, playing for only four minutes during the victory at Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The youngster enjoyed a breakthrough term with the Seagulls under Roberto De Zerbi between 2022 and 2023, netting 10 goals in 25 first-team appearances.

Ferguson also possesses relative international pedigree, having represented the Republic of Ireland on 18 occasions since making his debut in November 2022.

Man United, Arsenal joined by Leicester in Ferguson chase?

According to The Sun, a new Premier League outfit have joined English powerhouses Manchester United and Arsenal in the race for Brighton's Ferguson.

The report claims that relegation-threatened Leicester are eyeing up an ambitious January swoop for the 20-year-old, who is said to be unhappy with his game time on the South coast.

It is understood that the Foxes would like to sign Ferguson on a loan deal, however the East Midlands club already have the maximum number of temporary players from fellow Premier League sides.

As a result, either Facundo Buonanotte or Crystal Palace's Odsonne Edouard would have to leave the King Power Stadium to facilitate a move for the Irishman.

As well as Leicester, it is believed that Championship side Burnley are keen on Ferguson, although the forward might not be interested in dropping down to the second tier.

Leicester make a quick change

After 12 matches of the top-flight campaign, Leicester are currently occupying 16th spot in the Premier League standings, two points above Crystal Palace in 18th.

Despite the Foxes being clear of the drop zone for now, they still opted to part ways with head coach Steve Cooper following Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Even since the summer months, there have been rumours of discontent in the Foxes' camp surrounding the Welshman's tactics and management style.

Leicester will hope to have a new face in the dugout next weekend, when a daunting trip to Brentford's West London home is scheduled. body check tags ::
