Steve Nash was forced to leave the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Utah Jazz with a nerve problem in his leg.
The veteran guard started the game but did not return for the second half, having added just two points in the first two quarters.
Head coach Mike D'Antoni told ESPN: "His hamstring was a little bit fired up. I imagine it's day to day. He didn't want to just sit out, but he couldn't go."
Nash added: "Some days it sucks but other days you feel great and you have a good session, a good game and you feel like it's all worth it."
The Lakers have lost their last six games at home.
