Shawne Williams has left the Los Angeles Lakers after his short-term deal with the team expired.
The 28-year-old forward was offered a 10-day contract earlier this month by the Lakers, who were eager to add depth to their roster following a recent injury crisis.
Williams was originally picked up by the Lakers in the off-season, signing a non-guaranteed contract, but before his contract became locked in for the entire campaign, the Lakers waived him on January 7.
The Lakers may decide to offer Williams a new deal, but he will need to agree a contract before Wednesday to be available for the final six games in February.
NBA teams can only offer a player two 10-day contracts in one season.
