Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers has insisted that he wants to stay with the franchise and is hopeful that the leading stars will also return.
Chalmers's production dipped significantly during the post-season and he was dropped for game five of the NBA Finals after averaging just 6.4 points and 3.6 assists in the playoffs.
"I hope we stay together. I think we have a good thing going," Chalmers said, Yahoo! Sports reports.
The status of the team's other key players also remains in doubt, with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all having the option of opting out while Ray Allen is understood to be pondering retirement as Shane Battier has already called time on his career.
