Miami Heat forward LeBron James has claimed that Allen Iverson is one of the greatest players to have played in the NBA.
Iverson will officially retire from professional basketball before the game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Heat on Wednesday evening, and James has taken the opportunity to heap praise on the 38-year-old.
"Pound-for-pound, probably the greatest player who ever played," James told ESPN The Magazine.
"I watch Jordan more than anybody for sure," the two-time MVP revealed. "But I'll watch tapes of A.I., too.
"He was one of the greatest finishers we've ever seen. You could never question his heart. Ever. He gave it his all. A.I. was like my second-favorite player growing up, after MJ."
Iverson scored over 24,000 points during a 14-year NBA career.
