Sports Mole

West Ham United Women will attempt to claim back-to-back victories when they travel to the Broadfield Stadium for Saturday's Women's Super League meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion Women.

Meanwhile, the Seagulls will be looking to produce a positive response after falling to a heavy defeat in their recent outing against Arsenal.

Match preview

Brighton are sitting in third position in the WSL table after winning four, drawing one and losing two of their seven matches.

The Seagulls put together a four-game unbeaten league run before they travelled to the Emirates Stadium for last Friday's home meeting with Arsenal.

Unfortunately for Brighton, their impressive run of form was ended by a heavy 5-0 defeat which saw the Seagulls concede three goals inside the opening 25 minutes.

While they may have lost to the Gunners, Brighton can still be pleased with the fact they are sitting one point above Arsenal and Manchester United ahead of the weekend's round of fixtures.

The Seagulls will fancy their chances of adding to their 13-point tally on Saturday, having won three and drawn one of their four home league games this season.

West Ham are currently sitting in ninth position after winning one, drawing two and losing four of their seven league matches this season.

The Hammers endured a 15-game winless WSL run until they recorded a much-needed 1-0 victory in last Sunday's home meeting with Leicester City.

Viviane Asseyi scored the decisive goal against the Foxes to lead West Ham to their first WSL win since beating Arsenal 2-1 in February.

The result also gave West Ham their first league clean sheet since March, ending a run of 10 straight WSL matches without a shutout.

After enjoying success on home turf last weekend, Rehanne Skinner's side will attempt to build upon that result in Saturday's fixture, as they look to claim their first WSL away win since January after taking just two points from their previous nine road trips.

Team News

Brighton forward Pauline Bremer is set to miss a third consecutive game with a muscular issue, while Jelena Cankovic will have to be assessed after being forced to sit out the last three matches due to a hamstring injury.

Arsenal loanee Michelle Aygemang was indelible to face her parent club on matchday seven, but the forward is set to return to the matchday squad for Saturday's home fixture.

Rachel McLauchlan, Marisa Olislagers and Bruna Vilamala could be considered for recalls after they dropped down to the bench against the Gunners.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have reported no fresh injury concerns, but they remain without the services of Kristie Mewis and Jess Ziu.

After seeing her side claim a long-awaited win last weekend, Skinner could be tempted to select an unchanged lineup for Saturday's away clash.

Brighton & Hove Albion Women possible starting lineup:
Baggaley; McLauchlan, Bergsvand, Carabali; Kirby, Losada, Olislagers, Pattinson; Haley, Vilamala, Parris

West Ham United Women possible starting lineup:
Szemik; Denton, Tysiak, Li, Zadorsky; Siren, Pavi, Gorry, Piubel; Ueki, Asseyi

We say: Brighton & Hove Albion Women 3-1 West Ham United Women

Brighton may have experienced disappointment in their recent outing against Arsenal, but having won three of their four league games this season, we think the Seagulls will utilise home advantage to claim a relatively comfortable victory over West Ham.
