The Milwaukee Bucks have traded Ersan Ilyasova to the Detroit Pistons for Shawne Williams and Caron Butler.
Ilyasova played a key role in the Bucks side that made it to the playoffs before losing to the Chicago Bulls in the first round, but the forward's time with the franchise comes to an end after seven seasons.
The move is designed to create cap space for the Bucks, who are expected to consider waiving both Williams and Butler this summer.
"Ersan Ilyasova is a player we have coveted since we got to Detroit," Pistons coach and president of basketball operations Stan Van Gundy revealed in a statement. "Not only is he a proficient 3-point shooter that can stretch the floor, he is a high-energy, hard-playing guy who fits extremely well with how we want to play. We are excited about what he can add to our team."
Ilyasova averaged 11.5 points in the regular season and 8.7 points across six games in the playoffs.
