New York Knicks team president Phil Jackson has revealed that he expected the team to struggle ahead of their season opener against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
The Bulls secured a 104-80 win at Madison Square Garden, with the Knicks struggling on both ends of the court as they adjust to the triangle offense and roster changes.
"Not ready for showtime, were we guys?" Jackson said to reporters after the game.
The Knicks shot 37% of their shots through the game while Chicago scored 42 points in the paint as their bench players contributed to the win.
Meanwhile, JR Smith suggested that the Knicks gave up in the second half and he emphasised the need to avoid that from happening in future, particularly on their home court.
