Scott Brooks has described Russell Westbrook as a "no-excuse player" following the Oklahoma City Thunder's win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
The point guard scored 27 points and added nine assists during the 116-100 victory, leaving the Thunder just one win behind the Portland Trail Blazers in the Northwest Division.
The head coach told reporters: "Russell's a no-excuse player. We could play back-to-back, we could play four in five nights, we can play every night for a month and he's going to come in and play the game that he loves to play every night. He sets the tone for us and our guys do a great job following his lead."
Westbrook added: "I'm great, I feel good. I'm taking it one day at a time and I'm taking care of my body, which is most important. I'm trying to get us wins."
Westbrook has averaged 21.2 points per game so far this season.
