Kevin Durant "glad" to end 25-point streak

:Headline: Kevin Durant 'glad' to end 25-point streak: ID:148933: from db_amp
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant admits that he is "glad" his 41-game streak of scoring at least 25 points is over.

Kevin Durant has said that he is "glad" that his run of 41 games scoring at least 25 points is over.

The NBA's leading points scorer this season broke the record for most consecutive games - scoring more than 25 points set by Michael Jordan - earlier this month, but added just 23 during last night's 107-92 win over the Sacramento Kings.

The forward told reporters: "I was getting so many texts after every game. I'm glad that's over with and we can just focus on the team.

"If we played well and I had 25 points, that took away from how well the team was playing, so I didn't like that. If we lost, it was all about me scoring 25 points and I didn't like that either. I'm glad we can just talk about the team now.

"When I sit back after the season's over that's when I reflect on everything that I've done, that the team's done, and I'm sure I'll appreciate [the streak] then. But now, I'm just focusing on game to game and how we can get better as a group and how I can help the team get better."

Durant has averaged 32 points per game so far this season.
