Oklahoma City Thunder star Kendrick Perkins is facing an assault charge after allegedly punching a woman and her brother in July.
The 28-year-old faced a similar charge back in 2011, but it was reportedly dropped after he posted a bond and was released.
"We were made aware of the allegations," Thunder general manager Sam Presti said in a statement. "It is something we take seriously and are gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this time."
Perkins averaged 4.2 points and 6.0 rebounds a game last season, but is likely to have his pre-season preparations overshadowed.
