Former Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins has revealed his surprise at the sacking of coach Scott Brooks.
Brooks was fired back in April after spending six years at the Thunder, with Perkins suggesting that the coach had a good track record of winning games.
"I was surprised. I was surprised. You can have all the talent you want. But one thing about Scotty is he won games," Perkins told The Oklahoman.
"A lot of people talk about the offense, but he allowed KD [Kevin Durant] and Russ [Russell Westbrook] to play their games. He let them play with a lot of freedom. But sometimes, I guess, you just gotta roll with a new voice. I wish them nothing but the best."
Oklahoma have since brought in new coach Billy Donovan to replace Brooks.
