First-round Draft pick Andrew Wiggins has praised former teammate Joel Embiid following his selection by the Philadelphia 76ers at number three.
The players shared the same court at the Kansas Jayhawks last term, with Embiid on course to become this year's number one ticket had he not picked up an injury last week.
"He worked so hard," Wiggins told reporters at the event on Thursday.
"He didn't let nothing get to him. He always stayed motivated. So I'm just proud. It's a proud moment for Kansas."
Both players will look to the future, where their sides will view each of them as potential NBA Championship rivals in the coming decade.
