Russia's Andrey Zamkavoy has secured his place in the last 16 of the Olympic welterweight class with a victory over China's Qiong Mai Maitituersun.
Zamkavoy applied the pressure in the opening round and was rewarded by the judges, who scored it 5-4 in his favour.
The Russian increased his work-rate early in the second, but Mai was growing in stature and started to let his right hand go.
Attack proved to be the best form of defence for Zamkavoy, who produced a powerful final minute to add another point to his lead.
Zamkavoy struck with a nice shot early in the last round, forcing Mai to march forward, striving to keep his Olympic dream alive.
However, the Russian looked comfortable in recording a 16-11 triumph.
