Team England boxer Anthony Fowler has revealed that he has been sent well-wishes by four-time world champion Carl Froch.
Fowler advanced into the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday after overcoming Kenyan Nickson Otieno Abaka in comfortable fashion.
Fowler told Sports Mole that he had been sparring with Froch in the build-up to the Games, before telling reporters that he had spoken to the 37-year-old recently.
"Froch told me to 'relax and be myself and I will win gold'," said Fowler, after revealing that the pair had been in contract during the Games.
Fowler is guaranteed at least a bronze medal in the middleweight section.
