India's Vijender Singh has defeated Kazakhstan's Danabek Suzhanov in their Olympic middleweight first-round enounter.
Singh won every round on his way to a 14-10 victory, which sees the Beijing bronze medallist through to the second round.
Suzhanov put up a decent fight, and the scores were close going into the final stanza.
However, the Kazakh could not mount a comeback and he has fallen at the first hurdle.
