Evaldas Petrauskas of Lithuania has advanced to the next round of the Olympic lightweight competition by virtue of a crushing victory over Hungary's Miklos Varga.

Both men came forward from the first bell, but the calmer, more measured approach was paying dividends for Varga early on and Petrauskas swung wildly.

The second round was a big turning point in the contest, as the Lithuanian's accuracy improved greatly.

Vargas was unable to repel Petrauskas, who was pressurising him at every opportunity.

In the end, the judges scored the bout in favour of the Lithuanian.
