New Zealand boxer David Nyika has claimed that he fed off the home crowd in his victory over Scotland's Scott Forrest at the Commonwealth Games on Sunday.
Nyika's victory followed wins from teammates Chad Milnes and Leroy Hindley, before David Light made it a clean sweep for New Zealand in the final bout of the session.
"It is wicked. I don't know if New Zealand boxing has ever done this well at the Commonwealth Games," he told Sports Mole.
"To be honest it kind of gets me excited (the atmosphere in the stadium). I need something to get up for and you have got to give the fans a good show.
"That is part of the sport, people get behind you, people go against you, that is just the way it is."
Nyika will face Sumit Sangwan in the quarter-finals on July 29.
