British lightweight Anthony Crolla has revealed on Twitter that he has suffered no permanent damage after fracturing his skull in December.

Crolla gave pursuit to two men who had burgled his next-door neighbour's home but after falling and breaking his ankle, he was struck across the head with a slab, leaving him with severe injuries.

However, three months after the attack, the Mancunian has announced that he is free to apply to the Boxing Board of Control to compete in another fight.

Crolla had been scheduled to face WBA champion Richar Abril in Manchester.
