Former world heavyweight boxing champion Frank Bruno has revealed that he was blinded in one eye following a vicious street attack in 2010.
The 50-year-old was a guest on Piers Morgan's Life Stories when he spoke of the incident, which occurred in broad daylight.
According to Bruno, he was out with his daughter in Milton Keyes when he was approached by a stranger who, for no reason, headbutted him in the face.
Bruno, who has struggled with depression since quitting boxing, said that doctors managed to restore his sight after three months of treatment.
"I try to get on with my life and not bother anyone at all but sometimes people bother me," said Bruno. "I'm not looking for sympathy but people take liberties. At the time I had to swallow and let it go.
"We are living in a world today where things like that happen, you dust yourself down and get on with it. There are some people who are a little bit more cuckoo than others."
Bruno said that the culprit has never been tracked down.
