Carl Froch says that he is ready for the challenge that Yusaf Mack will pose, and the IBF champion will take no chances.

IBF super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has said that he will take no chances in his world title defence against Yusaf Mack later this year.

Froch will take on the American in Nottingham in November, and says that he is ready for the challenge that Mack will pose.

It will be the 35-year-old's first defence of his title, which he won in spectacular fashion against unbeaten Canadian Lucien Bute in May.

The British fighter knows that it won't be easy against the bigger man.

"Yusaf Mack is a very big, strong guy," Froch told Sky Sports News.

"He is a top, world ranked opponent, but his ranking is at light-heavyweight so he's going to provide a different kind of test for me.

"He is big and strong, and he can punch so it's a great defence for me in front of my home crowd in Nottingham."

Froch says that he has learned from facing bigger fighters in the past and it will play an important role in his preparations for the bout.

He continued: "[Mack] is used to getting hit by bigger, stronger opponents. I fought Glen Johnson in the Super Six Tournament.

"He was a light-heavyweight and I could tell when he was walking forward, soaking up my punches, that I wasn't going to get him out of there.

"He was just heavy and solid, so I need to be picking sparring partners that are big and strong, and can take my power."

The fight is scheduled to take place on November 17 at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham.
