British super middleweight Carl Froch has said that he will go head to head with Andre Ward on October 29 in the Super Six World final.
Froch, who is currently the WBC Champion, will defend his title against unbeaten WBA champion Ward in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall later this year.
The 34-year-old won his place in the Super Six final with a victory over Glen Johnson, but the Nottingham-born fighter believes this will be one of his biggest tests.
"Not only is it for two world titles, but it's for the tournament trophy and The Ring belt is also on the line,” Froch told Sky Sports.
"It makes this the biggest and the most prestigious fight to happen for as far back as I can remember. My punching power is far superior to Ward's. This will prove to be the deciding factor."
American Ward hit back at Froch’s claims by suggesting his British competitor is seeking attention in the States.
"I don't think Froch gets the attention he deserves in his country so he tries to get it in the United States,” said the 27-year-old. “He's certainly not the first to speak out against me and he won't be the last.
"I think Froch likes to hear himself talk - except he doesn't know what he's talking about."
Froch has won 28 out of 29 fights while Ward has 24 victories under his belt.
