Tyson Fury: 'I deserve money than David Haye'

British heavyweight Tyson Fury insists that he deserves the "lion's share" of the purse if he signs a deal to face former world champion David Haye.

British heavyweight Tyson Fury has revealed that there is "room for negotiation" as a deal continues to be discussed regarding a potential fight with David Haye.

Fury has asked for an 80% share of the money that the fight would generate, which was turned down by Haye, but the unbeaten fighter has claimed that the bout could still happen.

The 24-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Me and my team are optimistic about the fight, I hear Haye's team are optimistic. So I don't see why this fight should not happen. He wants to fight, I want to fight, so it should be done soon enough.

"I did say that [I wanted 80% of the money] because Haye is a has-been and I am what is in fashion at the moment. What's in fashion needs the lion's share.

"We have a deadline of the end of the month to sign a contract, so if he wants a fight he will sign the contract. If not, we will move on, but is it never over until it is over and there is room for negotiation and I am sure we can reach an agreement."

Fury is unbeaten in 21 fights, while Haye is a former two-weight world champion, winning 26 of 28 encounters.
