British super-bantamweight Kid Galahad has insisted that winning the European title would just be another stepping stone to an opportunity to compete for the world title.
Galahad will face Spaniard Sergio Prado for the vacant strap on March 22 in Sheffield, and the unbeaten fighter has admitted that he is relishing the chance to join a range of top boxers who have captured the belt during their career.
The 23-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "The European title is just another stepping stone.
"It's a good title to have but it's just another step - Naseem Hamed had that same title, Carl Frampton had it, Rendall Munroe had it - all quality fighters have held that belt."
The former British title holder has won all 15 of his professional encounters, while Prado has nine victories from 13 matches.
