The European Boxing Union has identified George Groves as the official challenger for unbeaten Callum Smith's super-middleweight title.
Groves posted the below photo on his Instagram page saying that negotiations should now take place between the two parties, with Groves adding that it "sounds like a great fight".
Smith (19-0, 14 KOs) knocked out Hadillah Mohoumadi in the first round to win the vacant title in Liverpool earlier this month.
Groves, whose three defeats in his 26 fights have come in world title bouts with Carl Froch and Badou Jack, defeated previously unbeaten David Brophy on the undercard of Anthony Joshua and Charles Martin's world heavyweight bout on Saturday.
