Commonwealth Super-Middleweight Champion George Groves has revealed that he is focused on making his return to the ring in front of a home crowd on December 15.
Groves was confirmed as chief support to Ricky Burns at the December show at the Excel Arena in London by Frank Warren on Monday.
The unbeaten West Londoner has only fought once this year, a superb knockout win against Francisco Sierra in July, after a succession of injury problems.
Groves admitted that 2012 has been hard but he is determined to end it on a high note.
He said: "This year has been tough, but I'm over the worst of it and now I'm focused on a big performance at the Excel.
"Although I've only had one fight this year, it was a good win in America that made the fans and media sit up and take notice of me. 2013, I'm sure, will be a much better one for me, but I need to make sure I end the year with my record in tact."
Groves was in devastating form in his last fight in the capital, a second-round knockout victory over Paul Smith.
