British super-middleweight George Groves insists that he would stop IBF and WBA champion Carl Froch in six rounds if he were granted a rematch in 2014.

World super-middleweight contender George Groves has revealed that he has already made improvements since losing to IBF and WBA champion Carl Froch last weekend.

Froch stopped Groves in the ninth round in controversial circumstances despite the challenger being ahead on all three scorecards, and the Hammersmith fighter has insisted that he will knock out the belt holder in six rounds if he is granted a rematch.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "If the rematch happens, I will stop Carl Froch in six rounds. That's the improvements that I have made already, without even stepping back into the gym. These are improvements that will let me know a little bit more about Carl Froch.

"I had made assumptions about Carl Froch through sparring, through watching him through the media and through watching his previous bouts.

"But again that is belief, not knowing. But now that I have boxed him for nine rounds and I know a lot more about him. And I would approach it different."

The defeat for Groves was the first of his professional career.
