Amir Khan's new coach Virgil Hunter insists that the fighter needs to slow down his approach in the ring.

Virgil Hunter believes that Amir Khan needs to approach his fights in a more controlled fashion.

Khan appointed Hunter as his new coach after he parted ways with Freddie Roach and Hunter has admitted that he believes that the Bolton fighter sometimes gets a "little ahead of himself".

Hunter said: "He has to temper his approach.

"He's a little ahead of himself and he has to learn how to harness his speed."

Khan fights Carlos Molina on December 8, hoping to avenge his fourth-round defeat to Danny Garcia in July.
