Anthony Joshua insists that an all-British world heavyweight title fight against new champion Tyson Fury will happen "at some stage down the line".

Anthony Joshua has insisted that "at some stage down the line", he will lock horns with Tyson Fury, who stunned the world of boxing in Dusseldorf at the weekend.

Fury entered his world heavyweight title fight with Wladimir Klitschko as the underdog to triumph, but the Brit beat the Ukrainian to claim the WBA, IBF and WBO titles on Saturday evening.

Joshua, 26, who will fight Dillian Whyte on December 12 attempting to continue his perfect professional record, has said that a fight with Fury will happen at some point and the Olympian is confident that he would overcome the new champion.

"It's interesting. Every time I'm pulling up to a petrol station or checking social media everyone says 'When are you going to fight Tyson Fury?' This was way before he became champion," Joshua told Sky Sports News.

"There's always been an interest there. People want it to happen, at some stage down the line it will happen, whether it's next year or the year after. I believe I can beat anyone, so I can beat Tyson Fury. If the opportunity presents itself and it was the right opportunity, we would definitely take the fight."

Joshua turned professional in 2013 and has since won all 14 fights, the last of which came against Gary Cornish at the O2 Arena in September.
