Anthony Joshua ready to right wrongs in Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Anthony Joshua says that he plans to "simplify matters" in his rematch with unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua feels that he deserves the chance to "simplify matters" in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk before further judgments are made on his ability.

Usyk outclassed and outlasted Joshua during their Wembley showdown in September, winning the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles in the process.

While a date is yet to be announced, the defeated British fighter is expected to face the two-weight world champion again in the spring.

Joshua was criticised for his tactics during their initial bout, the 32-year-old placing more focus on a tactical approach, but he feels that he deserves an opportunity to redeem himself later in 2022.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Joshua said: "There was always this stigma saying that I can't box - that I was a big, stiff bodybuilder.

"I said: 'Okay, cool'. Usyk won nine rounds, I won three. In the next fight, if I win four more rounds then I will win. Let me simplify that matter.

"Then I'll get onto the road to being the undisputed champion again."

Although several venues are in the running for the second fight, promoter Eddie Hearn has frequently suggested that London is the favourite. body check tags ::
