Amir Khan has reportedly emerged as the favourite to land a money-spinning bout with Floyd Mayweather Jnr.
The 26-year-old from Bolton has had his sights set on a fight with the pound-for-pound king for some time now, and BoxRec reports that his wish could come true on May 3, 2014.
The contest would likely take place in Las Vegas, the scene of Mayweather's last seven victories.
Khan, a former WBA and IBF light welterweight champion, last fought in April, overcoming Julio Diaz in 12 rounds at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.
He had been in negotiations with current IBF welterweight titlist Devon Alexander, until the American opted to fight Zab Judah.
