Promoter Tom Loeffler has acknowledged that both he and world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin were delighted with the reception he received at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.
Golovkin recorded a fifth-round stoppage win over Kell Brook in front of a sold-out crowd in London, and Loeffler has suggested that it will not be long before the hard-hitting Kazakh graces a British ring once again.
Loeffler told Sky Sports News: "When the fans were standing on their chairs, singing and cheering on, it was just an incredible atmosphere in the arena.
"I think the world saw what a great energy The O2 has and when both were walking into the ring, there was such adrenaline - it was great.
"He has so many amateur fights around the world, but in his professional career, this was his first in the UK market and we couldn't have asked for a better reception."
Golovkin is likely to face Daniel Jacobs in the United States before returning to England in 2017 to face either Billy Joe Saunders or Chris Eubank Jr.
