The Nevada State Athletic Commission has made a U-turn on its own rule regarding glove weight for the upcoming fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Conor McGregor.
The high-profile fight between one of boxing's best pound-for-pound fighters and the MMA star will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena on August 26.
According to Sky Sports News, both competitors submitted requests to wear 8oz gloves, which goes against the NSAC rule abut 154lbs-division fights having 10z gloves.
However, the Commission decided to grant the pair's wish, while also confirming that American Robert Bryd has been selected to referee the bout.
Burt Clements, Dave Moretti and Guido Cavalleri will make up the judging panel.
