British bantamweight Jamie McDonnell has admitted that being stripped of the IBF title last year would become a distant memory if he can overcome Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat for the WBA strap at Wembley on Saturday night.
McDonnell won the IBF belt last May but he was forced to give up the title after failing to face his mandatory challenger.
However, the Doncaster fighter is confident that he can become world champion for a second time by beating his experienced Thai opponent.
The 28-year-old told reporters: "I'm back on top form and fighting for a world title. I should have defended that title a couple of times, but to be on this big stage fighting at Wembley, it doesn't get any bigger than this.
"I want to win this world title, put my name back on the map and go on to unify the division."
McDonnell has 23 wins from 26 matches, while Na Rachawat has lost just twice in 54 encounters.
