Kevin Mitchell will meet Ghislain Maduma on the undercard of Carl Froch's rematch with George Groves on May 31.
Mitchell will clash with the Canadian in an IBF lightweight eliminator for a chance to square off against title holder Miguel Vazquez.
The Mirror quotes promoter Eddie Hearn as saying: "This fight carries huge risk but also huge rewards.
"I strongly believe that Kevin can beat Vazquez but he has a massive test in Maduma first at Wembley.
"Maduma is technically very good and can punch with both hands but Kevin has boxed four times in seven months and is ready to enter deep waters - it's going to be a cracking fight."
The May 31 card will be held at Wembley.
