David Price believes that speaking to Lennox Lewis has helped him prepare for his upcoming rematch with Tony Thompson.
The 29-year-old will stand toe to toe with the American once more at the Echo Arena on June 6, 15 weeks after suffering a shock defeat in their original engagement.
During training, the Liverpool fighter sought the advice of the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, who avenged his defeats to Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman, as well as a draw against Evander Holyfield.
"It was good to talk to Lennox about his personal experiences and how he'd had to face people who had beaten him and gain revenge," Price told Sky Sports News.
"It came at just the right time for this fight. I can only benefit from what he has passed on to me. This fight is going to define my career in terms of how I come back from such a devastating defeat.
"When I win this re-match it will make people sit up and take notice over how I've responded in adversity and that is going to prove I am going on to become a great heavyweight."
The defeat to Thompson was Price's first in 16 professional bouts.
