Promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that British super-middleweight Paul Smith will face Arthur Abraham for the WBO title in September.
The two camps have been in talks since May regarding a world title clash, but after an announcement was delayed while a venue was found, it has been revealed that the bout will take place in Kiel on September 27.
The fight will be Smith's first challenge for world honours, and the Liverpudlian will be taking a record of 35 victories from 38 professional encounters into his meeting with the German.
Abraham, who has won 40 of his 44 fights in the paid ranks, is a two-weight world champion. and the contest will be his second defence of the WBO strap after he dethroned rival Robert Stieglitz in March.
