British super-middleweight Callum Smith appears to be in line to compete for the European super-middleweight title in his next fight.
Smith, who is unbeaten in 18 professional bouts, is highly-ranked with the WBC and is closing in on a shot at champion Badou Jack, but the Liverpudlian is expected to meet champion Hadillah Mohoumadi in the spring.
Last week, promoter Eddie Hearn won a purse bid to stage the clash against the Frenchman, who has not suffered defeat since losing to James DeGale on points in 2012, and although there is yet to be an official announcement by Matchroom Sport, the fight is likely to take place in April.
Both men also hold top-15 rankings with the IBF, WBO or WBA, meaning that the winner could also put himself in contention for a shot at either DeGale, Arthur Abraham or Giovanni De Carolis later in 2016.
