British super-middleweight Paul Smith has reportedly been handed the opportunity to take on Andre Ward in the summer.
The Liverpudlian is coming off the back of successive world title losses to WBO champion Arthur Abraham, but according to the Daily Mail, he will test himself against one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world in California on June 20.
After signing with Roc Nation Sports, Ward will be making his first appearance since November 2013 as he warms up for a potential rematch with Carl Froch later this year.
If a deal is penned between Ward and Smith, the American's WBA belt will not be on the line.
