Katie Taylor feels that the winner of the undisputed world lightweight clash with Amanda Serrano will have to "show a lot of heart" to prevail at Madison Square Garden.

Katie Taylor has acknowledged that she hopes her undisputed world lightweight clash with Amanda Serrano on Saturday can "inspire" a generation.

In a fight which is several years in the making, Taylor puts her four lightweight belts on the line against an opponent in Serrano who has won world titles in seven different weight categories.

The Irish and Puerto Rican fighters will headline the night at Madison Square Garden, and Taylor feels that whoever prevails in New York will have to "show a lot of heart".

Speaking to reporters, Taylor said: "I don't train to lose any fights, I train to win, it's the same for me Saturday. I'm stepping in there confident I'll be coming out victorious.

"The best part about this fight, the best part about my legacy is being able to inspire the next generation and this fight will inspire a lot of young girls, that's the best part about it.

"Stylistically I think it's going to be a very exciting fight. I think the winner is going to have to show a lot of heart, a lot of grit, a lot of skill."

Taylor is defending a 20-fight unbeaten in the professional ranks, while Serrano has lost just one of her 44 outings, that defeat coming almost a decade to the day of Saturday's showdown in the United States. body check tags ::
