Crowd violence broke out after the 108 boxing title bout between Johnriel Casimero and Luis Lazarte in Argentina last night.
After Casimero won the fight, fans began throwing objects, including chairs, into the ring before some stormed it, aiming punches at the Filipino fighter and his entourage.
Experts were quick to condemn such actions, with ESPN's Dan Rafael saying on Twitter: "What happened in 108 title bout in Argentina tonight is worst thing I've seen in boxing since the Bowe-Golota 1 riot.
"We already knew Lazarte was the dirtiest fighter in #boxing. Now we know his fans are the dirtiest also.
"Those idiots in Argentina were tossing chairs into the ring as well as the boys on WWE Smackdown tonight."
Lazarte, 40, was the oldest reigning world boxing champion in the world until May last year, when the Argentinian lost his belt to Ulises Solis.
