Olympic champion Luke Campbell prepared for a possible matchup with local rival Tommy Coyle with a third-round knockout of Levis Morales in Hull.
The Nicaraguan fighter started positively, but soon struggled to cope with the jab from the 27-year-old.
Morales appeared to be hanging in there until he was hit by a right-left combination from Campbell, which sent him to the canvas late in round two.
The Briton took control of the bout and floored his opponent again early in the third round.
Referee Howard Foster was about to step in and stop the contest, but Morales's corner threw in the towel first as Campbell extended his professional record to 10-0.
