Team GB middleweight boxer Antony Fowler has been defeated by Italy's Salvatore Cavallaro in the last 16 of the European Games.
Cavallaro won with a unanimous decision, winning all three rounds and will fight Russia's Maxim Koptyakov or Germany's Denis Radovan in the quarter-final.
It was Fowler's first fight in the competition, having received a bye in the first round.
The Liverpool-born boxer won gold at the Commonwealth Games last year.
