India's Krishan Vikas has ended the United States' Olympic boxing tournament by dumping Errol Spence out of the welterweight class.
Krishan started the brighter of the two, surging forward from the first bell. The American managed to absorb most of the punches, but was hurt by two body shots.
Spence came under more pressure early in the second, as the Indian had him pinned against the ropes before pummelling him with a barrage of venomous blows.
A nice straight right from Krishan penetrated Spence's guard, but the American replied with a speedy combination, although most of it was caught by Krishan's gloves.
The fighters stood toe to toe as the second came to a close and exchanged a couple of heavy blows.
Krishan's lead had been cut to one by the sound of the third bell, but was caught cold by Spence, who started quickly as he fought for his Olympic life.
Spence was finishing strongly and the Indian started to tire, sagging against the ropes, continuing his assault.
However, at the end of a brusing contest, the judges deemed that Krishan had done enough to hold on to claim a 13-11 victory.
