South Korea's Han Soonchul has secured a spot on the Olympic podium thanks to a three-point victory over Uzbekistan's Fazliddin Gaibnazarov.

Han edged the first round 7-5, thanks largely to his greater accuracy. The South Korean boxed well off the back foot to double his lead in the second.

The Uzbek went forward in the final round, but Han was clever to avoid direct confrontation and worked well behind his jab, disrupting Gaibnazarov.

In the end, the Korean was awarded a 16-13 decision.
