Tony Estanguet won the third Olympic C1 canoe slalom gold of his career in London this afternoon.
The Frenchman, who had previously won gold medals at the Games in 2000 and 2004, produced a faultless run on his way to setting a time of 97.06s at the Lee Valley White Water Centre.
Sideris Tasiadis, who emerged victorious from the semi-final, claimed silver with a time of 98.09s. The German was the last to compete and as a result his time demoted Slovakia's Michal Martikan to a bronze medal.
Tasiadis's impact also meant that Spaniard Ander Elosegi missed out on a medal altogether, having been in third spot from the majority of the final.
