Lizzie Neave showed that she is a potential medal hope for Great Britain with an impressive display on her way to qualifying for the women's K1 canoe slalom semi-finals.
The Staffordshire-based paddler knocked three seconds off her earlier time to post the fastest time in the second set of runs.
She finished second fastest qualifier overall, just 0.17 seconds slower than Spaniard Maialen Chourraut.
Neave's run was almost flawless as she completed her run at the Lee Valley Water Centre without conceding any penalty points.
The 25-year-old will be in action on Thursday, when both the semi-final and final of the event takes place.
