Captain Michael Clarke has been ruled out of Australia's ICC Champions Trophy match with England on Saturday with a back injury.
Clarke did not feature for Australia in either of their warm-up matches for the one-day tournament, and he will miss their opening match after failing to return to training.
In a statement, Australia physio Alex Kountouris said: "Michael is making steady progress in his recovery from his lower back injury, but he is yet to return to training.
"He will remain in London over the coming days to continue his rehabilitation, and he will not be available for the first match against England on Saturday."
It is unclear whether the 32-year-old will be fit enough to return for Australia's fixture with New Zealand on Wednesday.
