Australia captain Michael Clarke wants his young side to show more consistency when they face England in one-day action later this month.
The old cricketing enemies meet in a five-match series, which starts at Lord's next week, and Clarke has acknowledged that he expects a stern test from an ever-improving England side.
"We are the number one ranked team in the world but we haven't been consistent as we would like as a team - and that's our goal," said Clarke.
"We have a lot of talent in our squad and some new faces ... and we are looking forward to performing and having some success against England in their own back yard.
"It looks like they've been playing some really good cricket against West Indies, so we are going to have to be at our best."
Clarke has made 212 ODI appearances for Australia since debuting in 2003.
