Australia opening batsman David Warner reveals that Shane Watson is suffering no ill-effects from being struck on the head by a bouncer during practice.

Australia opening batsman David Warner has insisted that Shane Watson is suffering no ill-effects from being struck on the helmet by a ball during a practice session yesterday.

Watson was left "shaken" after being hit by James Pattinson's delivery, leaving the nets and undergoing an assessment by doctors following the incident.

However, Warner revealed that the all-rounder was back in training today and looked as good as ever ahead of the third Test against India, which starts on Boxing Day.

"He went out there and practised as well as I've seen him hit the ball. He got back on the horse and trained again which was fantastic," Warner is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

Australia batsman Phil Hughes died last month after being struck on the neck by a bouncer during a domestic match.
